We are a local and growing gourmet peanut company seeking a reliable Prep Cook with management or supervisor experience to support daily kitchen operations. This role is perfect for someone with a seasoned line cook/chef experience, that wants to work in a family owned/team oriented workplace. This role focuses on ingredient preparation, baking support, and maintaining food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well on a team, and is comfortable following and helping implement standard operating procedures (SOPs). This is a temp-to-hire position with the opportunity for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for baking and food production according to recipes and batch requirements
- Scale recipes accurately for larger orders using basic math and logical reasoning
- Assist with baking and production processes as needed
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and production team members
- Follow established SOPs and assist with implementing or improving procedures as the company grows
Qualifications
- Previous supervisor prep experience
- Strong understanding of basic math (measuring, scaling recipes, batch calculations)
- Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe a plus, but not required)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
