This position will be responsible for carrying out various quality functions throughout the production process, reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Director. The Quality Control Lab Technician position is responsible for following good manufacturing practices and ensuring compliance of product specifications as well as customer expectations. This position must accurately and precisely record information on quality logs, perform a variety of in-house testing, prepare 3rd party testing materials, as well as create and keep quality records organized and neat. Key measures for success will include work accuracy, efficiency, and attendance.
Specific responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
- Capable of utilizing senses for product evaluation (perception of color, smell, texture)
- Raw Material and component receiving
- Manage expired raw materials program, re-testing as needed
- Work with 3rd party to complete microbiology testing on finished goods
- Manage retained finished goods per customer specifications and keep organized system
- Calibrate scientific equipment as needed
- Perform additional tasks assigned by direct supervisor or President

- Ability to accurately perform testing in a timely manner
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks daily in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to create and retain accurate quality documents
- Ability to create positive and team-building atmosphere
Position requirements
- Associates Degree in a scientific field or similar work experience
- Experience using lab equipment preferred (viscosity, pH, SG, environmental testing)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Docs.
- Accuracy and precision in recording and details
- Team oriented
- Math skills such as adding/subtracting, unit conversions and percentages
- Be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks
