Set up, operate, or tend milling or planning machines to mill, plane, shape, groove, or profile metal or plastic work pieces. Must have experience.
Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machine equipment to manufacture parts per specifications. Ensure products meet quality standards and production goals while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Work under the direction of the Team Leader and follow all applicable safety and company policies.
- Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform part inspections using precision measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Ensure proper training is completed before operating any tool or machine.
- Document all production activity, including shop travelers, part counts, quality checks, and maintenance logs.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and use required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves).
- Maintain machines through daily cleaning and routine preventative maintenance.
- Assist with troubleshooting part or machine issues, collaborating with machinists or supervisors as needed.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and follow 5S practices to support efficiency and safety.
Compliance and Safety:
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow allHandbook guidelines and posted work rules.
- Ensure equipment calibrations and PMs are current and documented.
- Notify the supervisor of any safety hazards, equipment concerns, or quality issues.
Computer Use and Documentation:
- Use computers to log production data and complete forms accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for basic documentation and data entry.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years’ experience operating and set up of CNC mills and lathes required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work up to 10-hour shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
- Regular standing, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to tolerate moderate noise and temperature changes in the work environment.
Pay: up to 22.00 DOE
Monday – Thursday 4:45 am – 3:15 pm
